Labiaplasty (also known as labioplasty, labia minora reduction, and labial reduction) is a plastic surgery procedure for altering the labia minora (inner labia) and the labia majora (outer labia), the folds of skin surrounding the human vulva.
What a labiaplasty involves
Labiaplasty surgery done under general Anaesthetic or local Anaesthetic.with sedation.
Labiaplasty also involves It involves shortening or reshaping the vaginal lips. The unwanted tissue is cut away with a scalpel or laser. The loose edge may be stitched with fine, dissolvable stitches.
The whole procedure takes about 1 to 2 hours.
Patient can go home same day after the procedure.
Recovery
The patient will need to take 2 weeks to recover. It can take a couple of months for the skin to fully heal.
During this time you need to:

Maintain clean area to avoid any infection.

Wear loose pants to avoid any discomfort.

avoid sex for about 6 weeks.

avoid physical activity for atleast 6 to 12 weeks.

use sanitary napkins instead of tampons for a few weeks.

Side effects
It’s normal after a labiaplasty to have soreness, bruising and swelling for up to 2 weeks.
During this time, peeing and sitting may also be uncomfortable. Painkiller helps to remove pain.
